A leisurely breakfast in the Royal Larder kitchen, hair and makeup at the double vanity in the Fox Hole suite, then exchange vows at a spot overlooking Moosehead Lake (Lily Bay State Park, Mount Kineo, or a Greenville dock; see the guide). Where is King's Landing?
At 18 Lakeview St in downtown Greenville, Maine, right on Moosehead Lake. Restaurants, the marina, the Katahdin steamboat, and the seaplane docks are a short walk away, and Bangor International Airport is about 1¾ hours by car. See what's within walking distance.
How many people can stay?
King's Landing sleeps 17 across 8 bedrooms and 10 beds, with two cribs for the littlest guests, and a maximum occupancy of 20. Every bedroom has its own character, from the Fox Hole master suite to the bunk-style Owl's Nest.
Can we hold the ceremony or reception at the house?
No. King's Landing is a private lodge for your wedding party, not a ceremony venue, so we don't host onsite weddings or large receptions. Vows happen at one of the Moosehead Lake spots in our elopement guide; celebrating afterwards with your own houseguests at the Crown Bar and around the table is exactly what the home is for.
Can you arrange a private chef or a lobster dinner?
Yes. Through our concierge we arrange in-home private chefs and baristas, from a celebratory Maine lobster dinner to multi-course plated menus, plus a bartender or barista at the Crown Bar. Vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free menus are available. Please request early; Greenville's peak season books up.
Are photographers and videographers welcome?
Absolutely. Your photographer is welcome throughout the home and grounds. The Royal Terraces, the Crown Bar, the great room, and the lakefront are natural backdrops for getting-ready and celebration photos, and Moosehead Lake sunsets over the water are minutes away. Is there parking for the wedding party?
The driveway holds up to eight vehicles, with public parking nearby in downtown Greenville for overflow. Guests arriving by seaplane land a short walk from the door.
What is the minimum stay?
Our standard minimum is 4 nights. The booking calendar shows exactly which dates are open, and a shorter open gap between reservations can sometimes be booked; ask us and we'll check.
How do we get a Maine marriage license?
Out-of-state couples can apply at any Maine town office, including the Greenville Town Office a few minutes from the house. The license section of our guide walks through the fee, the paperwork, who can officiate in Maine, and how the signed license is returned.
