Where to Swim nearby Greenville
- Lily Bay State Park — two designated swim areas on Moosehead: Sandy Beach (gentle entry) and Pebble Beach (clear, slightly deeper). Picnic areas and restrooms; day-use fee.
- Mt. Kineo shoreline on Moosehead — small pebble/sand pockets near the shuttle landing and along the carriage road; beautiful water, no lifeguards, be mindful of boat traffic.
- Sheltered coves in Lily Bay and Spencer Bay — pleasant for a swim from shore; avoid private property and docks.
- There are no public swimming beaches at Prong or Lower Wilson pond, but there are public boat launches at these ponds. Lower Wilson also has some boat-in only, primitive campsites that if unoccupied, permit day use swimming and picnicking without staying overnight.
Amenities and logistics: State parks may charge day-use fees. Restrooms available at Lily Bay and some landings; parking can fill on weekends. Pack out all trash and avoid glass on beaches.
